Pack Holiday

Pack Holiday
A pack holiday is where the Brownies go away for either the weekend or the week. Our Brownie Pack has 2 Pack Holidays every year. We go once at Easter-time and once in the Autumn term. We usually go away for either 2 or 3 nights. Every Pack Holiday has a theme which the Brownies choose themselves. Everything that happens on Pack Holiday is related to the theme, from the group names to the menu! Brown Owl, Snowy Owl and Tawny Owl all come on Pack Holiday with us, but sometimes we have another Guider called Liz Smith who comes along to help. If we have enough room we invite some Brownies from another pack to come along with us and their Guider Mrs McGhee comes too.

Yes, we went slightly mad and had a Christmas pack holiday at Easter-time! We went on the Friday night which was a 'normal day', the Saturday was 'Christmas Eve' - we made our own stockings and hung them out for Santa, we went outside and sprinkled magic oats so the reindeer could see where we were...and it worked! When we were in our beds we heard sleigh bells! In the morning when we woke up it was 'Christmas Day'. Santa had been! We opened our stockings and ate Christmas dinner - complete with crackers! The next day was 'Boxing Day' and we were sad to go home...but then we remembered that our Easter eggs were waiting for us!
